Are you ready to get started in the Ortho-Bionomy® Practitioner Training Program?

Here are some helpful steps to get you started.

  1. Receive a session! It's great to feel the work in your own body and know if Ortho-Bionomy® is a modality that resonates with you.

  2. Take a class. Classes are offered all over the country. Locate a class near you by visiting the Society of Ortho-Bionomy website: www.ortho-bionomy.org and click on the "Find a Class" tab. Sampling different instructors and communities is valuable in your learning process. In Asheville? Find our class schedule HERE

  3. Become a Society of Ortho-Bionomy member online HERE: https://www.ortho-bionomy.org/aws/SOBI/input_form/display_form_01_show?form_no=3&host=retain&contact_id=$$Contact%20ID$$&which_form=18031

  4. Choose an advisor. An advisor is an Instructor of Ortho-Bionomy who guides and mentors you through your program. Many instructors have an Advisor/Advisee Agreement form to complete to clarify expectations and learn more about you. When choosing an Advisor, it is important to take into account their location, ease of access, fees, and if they are a right fit for your learning style.  If you decide to ask Jessica Mark to act as your advisor, her Agreement form can be found HERE

  5. Enroll in the Practitioner Training Program ($100 application fee) HERE: https://www.ortho-bionomy.org/Membership/Training_Program_Application.aspx

  6. Print out the Practitioner Training Program Handbook and begin recording classes in the Program Record Form portion of the handbook. It's a good practice to bring these with you to class in order to receive instructor signatures.

  7. It is recommended that you meet with your Advisor anytime after completing your first through fourth class to help you discern how to progress and what support you may need. Your Advisor’s experience and knowledge of the Practitioner Training Program is vital to help craft the program to match your unique pacing, structure, and flow. The program can be completed in any amount of time, but your Advisor is available to help keep you accountable and monitor your progression.

**Usually a good place to begin is with an Introduction to Ortho-Bionomy, Phase 4 Structural Release (Spine or Extremities), Isometrics/Isotonics, or Exploration of Movement class. However, many instructors allow you to take any class as your first introduction to Ortho-Bionomy. Make sure to ask in advance if there are any pre-requisites for a particular class.

**Any classes taken prior to becoming a member or entering into the Practitioner Program count towards your program.

8. Enjoy the program!
